Adam Smith

Adam works at the intersection of higher education and corporate social responsibility, ensuring Laureate's values and ‘Here For Good’ philosophy are embedded and celebrated throughout the company and the communities we serve.  Prior to moving to the United States to take on this role, Adam was a speaker, facilitator and consultant specializing in partnership development and network building in school education. Adam was Chair of the Australian Government’s Family School Community Partnership Bureau, a Board Member of the Public Education Foundation and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), and regular education commentator on 'The Project’ - a leading nightly program on national television. As former CEO of the Foundation for Young Australians and Education Foundation Australia, Adam has a background in non-profit leadership and has personally generated significant philanthropic and corporate investment in schools. Adam has worked extensively in the United States, the Middle East and Europe and is a regular guest at the annual World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE). In 2009 Adam was named Young Executive of the Year by BOSS Magazine. As a consultant, Adam's clients included the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Royal Children's Hospital Education Institute, Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, Principals Australia Institute and the Koshland Innovation Fund. Adam is also a past board member of the International Youth Foundation and established the first YouthActionNet institute in Australia.  Adam volunteers as a mentor, facilitator and advisor for many non profits, especially those supporting LGBTIQ youth.
